The press conference of the subforums of the 2nd Digital China Summit was held on May 6. As declared in the conference, the Summit will have 12 subforums and two branch forums, i.e. Big Data Sub-forum (Digital Culture) and Digital Maritime Silk Road Sub-forum (Intelligent Ocean). The subforums of this Summit have distinctive features and numerous highlights. Five major highlights are particularly interesting.
Firstly, it has a larger scale and higher diversity. There are more subforums this year than last year and more than 9,000 visitor trips are anticipated this year. The scope of the subforums covers such focal fields of the Digital China program as E-government, digital economy, big data and IoT and also the additional fields of digital ecology, digital health, satellite application, network technology and industrial Internet.
Secondly, it has a higher level and higher authority. The subforums are actively sponsored, guided, supported and participated by 8 national authorities, including the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission and the National Development and Reform Commission. Five of these national authorities are the new sponsors this year. The authoritative reports of relevant industries, including Whitebook of Industrial Internet Platforms, will also be released at the sub-forums.
Thirdly, it has more hot spots and a higher level of professionalism. The subforum subjects have been established closely in line with the spirits of the 19th CPC National Congress, the government’s work report and the Digital China program. The guests from all social circles will contribute their suggestions and ideas to the construction of Digital China through keynote speech, result reporting, academician workshop, expert forum and summit conversation.
Fourthly, it is more popular and featured. First of all, it satisfies public needs more closely. The new digital health subforum will address the close combo of Digital China program and the development of medical and health industry. Secondly, it is more popular in Fujian. The new subforums of digital ecology and digital Maritime Silk Road (Intelligent Ocean) will focus on the new concepts, new modes and new methods of pollution prevention and treatment via the ecological big data platform and display Fujian's features and highlights as a model zone of maritime information application. Thirdly, it is more popular in Fuzhou. The innovative organizational structure of the subforums this year allows relevant counties and districts of Fuzhou to utilize their special advantages to host relevant subforums, e.g. the IoT subforum will be hosted by Mawei District.
Fifthly, it opens up your horizon in a more forward-looking manner. For instance, leading officials of UNESCO and “Belt & Road” countries will deliver special speeches on “Digital Maritime Silk Road International Cooperation” at the Digital Maritime Silk Road Subforum.
