Detailed Etiquette Training Requirements for Digital China Summit Volunteers
The 8th Digital China Summit will be held at the end of this month. Recently, with guidance from the Fujian Provincial Youth League Committee, the Fuzhou Municipal Youth League Committee, along with the youth league committees at various universities, has been working hard to conduct pre-service training for student volunteers. The goal is to improve the volunteers’ service quality, ensuring that the summit’s volunteer services are delivered in a professional, high-quality, and well-organized manner.
The 580 student volunteers for this summit, from 11 universities including Fuzhou University, will assist with 16 service tasks across 14 categories. These include etiquette reception, audience guidance, explanation and interpretation, media services, conference support, exhibition assistance, and hotel coordination.
On the 13th, student volunteers from Minjiang University participated in an image and etiquette training session at the Rongqiao Sports and Cultural Center, all dressed in uniform. The etiquette instructor used a combination of theory and practice to provide detailed and engaging explanations on various aspects, including uniform appearance, body language, taboo words, facial expression training, and reception etiquette.
The reporter noticed that the training was highly detailed, with specific requirements not only for standing, walking, and sitting positions, but also for service language, smiling, and other etiquette practices.
The etiquette instructor explained that the training focused on enhancing the volunteers’ body language. They were taught to stand tall yet relaxed, using a friendly and approachable posture to welcome guests. The volunteers also practiced maintaining a respectful and alert sitting posture, always ready to assist. Additionally, they practiced walking gracefully to lead and serve with composure. Subtle facial expression training helped them show hospitality while maintaining professionalism and appropriate boundaries.
Before this, the volunteers took part in both online and offline general knowledge training sessions. They systematically studied courses on the fundamental theory and standards of volunteer services, as well as communication skills, and more, which helped expand their knowledge and strengthen their ability to perform their roles.
Next, the Fuzhou Municipal Youth League Committee will collaborate with employers to conduct multiple rounds of job training and on-site drills for the volunteers, ensuring the establishment of a youth volunteer team that will “promote Fuzhou as a blessed city, serve guests from all over the world, and showcase youth vitality” at the summit.
