National Standardization Administration Releases Guidelines for Constructing the Digital Standardization System

To implement the National Standardization Development Outline, the National Standardization Administration recently issued the Guidelines for Constructing the Digital Standardization System (hereinafter referred to as the Guidelines).

The Guidelines comprise six key components: reference architecture, general requirements, development methodology, framework content, priority tasks, and implementation mechanisms for digital standardization. The document clarifies the structural logic and implementation pathways of the standardization system while outlining key priorities for standard development and major work tasks. The release of the Guidelines marks a pivotal practice in the digital transformation of standardization, which will consolidate consensus and institutional foundations for China’s digital standardization efforts. This initiative will provide substantive guidance for establishing a rationally structured, hierarchically defined digital standardization system that facilitates high-quality economic and social development.

The National Standardization Administration will establish a National Working Group on Standard Digitalization to accelerate the development of digitization-related national standards. Meanwhile, it will closely track evolving digital needs domestically and internationally, timely revise and upgrade the Guidelines, and progressively optimize the digital standardization system to more effectively steer the digital transformation of standardization practices.
