Summit Introduction

After approval of the central government, the Digital China Summit (hereafter referred to as the “DCS”) was held in Fuzhou, the capital city of southeast China’s Fujian Province in 2018. Six consecutive summits have been successfully held. General Secretary Xi Jinping sent a letter of congratulation to the summit twice, providing guidance for holding the summit and promoting the construction of digital China.
Since its holding, DCS has fully implemented General Secretary Xi’s important thought on boosting China’s strength in cyberspace; built the consensus of all sectors of society on accelerating the construction of a cyberpower, a digital China, and a digital society; and further stimulated the motivation and creativity of the general public to participate in the construction of digital China. DCS has become a platform for the announcement of informatization development policies in China; display of the latest achievements in the construction of digital China; exchange about theories, experience, and practice of e-government and digital economy; and gathering of global forces to promote the construction of digital China.
